Lightning Switch by Vanessa Brooks

Duncan's life is about to be turned upside down and inside out. Inadvertently caught outside during a thunderstorm while cycling back from where he works in Sussex, England, Duncan decides to seek shelter from the raging elements within a Jacobean barn that belongs to his good friends James and Emily.

In the year 1640, Hugo Wylde is also standing alone during a ferocious storm, in the exact same entrance to the exact same Jacobean barn. He is grimly awaiting the arrival of his wife, Bridey, whom he intends to switch soundly for her continued disobedience.

When both men are simultaneously struck by lightning, their personas are switched. Duncan Miller awakes in the year 1640 to discover that he is now the owner of Wylde Manor, and that he is married to a beautiful young wife who expects her husband to discipline her for all her transgressions.

In this tale of time travel and adventure, we follow Duncan as he struggles to come to terms with his new life, bereft of all the modern trappings and conveniences.

How will he deal with the harsh reality of England in the 1600s? Will he be able to cope with becoming the husband of an enticing young wife, entrenched in the dogma of her 17th century beliefs?

Will Duncan be able to put aside his 21st century male misgivings about physically punishing his wife Bridey, as both she and society expect, with spankings and switchings?

What will Bridey make of the changes she has noticed in her normally dogmatic and severe husband?

Are they both prepared to cope with and survive the English Civil War; especially the turmoil and upheaval that these events inflict on their everyday family life?

Join Duncan and experience the adventure of a lifetime, along with all the twists and turns of fate, which can only happen to you when you lightning switch.

And what of Hugo? How will he cope in the modern world? Find out in the follow-up novel, coming soon!

Wylde Switch by Vanessa Brooks

Hugo Wylde is awaiting his wife Bridey outside their Jacobean Manor house in 1640, when a thunderstorm suddenly breaks overhead and he is struck by lightning.

When he first awakes, he thinks that he must be in heaven. Men and women clothed in white, with brilliant light haloing them, surround him, but once he understands that his persona has been irrevocably switched with that of another man, one Duncan Miller, a university lecturer, Hugo soon decides he has not only had a shift in time, but in actual fact, he has been delivered into hell...

Hugo finds that he has been transported forwards in time some four hundred years, into an unrecognisable world full of noise, strange technology, a world that is now full of people.

Join him as he tries to understand our modern day values and customs. How will he survive and live in a world he is so completely unequipped to deal with?

Will the help of a modern woman who had been in love with Duncan Miller make it possible for Hugo to find his way? Will he make the right choice when he realizes that the modern world is simply not for him?

The answer to his future may be found in a note left for him four centuries earlier by the man who took over his peaceful existence. Hugo decides to travel thousands of miles away from the England, the land of his birth, to America, to join other like-minded folk who eschew the trappings of a modern world. When he comes to the rescue of a young widow, will these people open not only their community, but will one open her heart?

Repeating the Past by Georgia St. Claire

What does the minister of historical studies do when his daughter is failing her history class and doesn't think a mere hundred years can make all that much difference? He sends her back to repeat the lessons she isn't learning in the classroom by living in nineteenth century Nevada - a far cry from the experience she had in modern day Las Vegas!

Beth has been coasting in school. She has traveled throughout time all her life, accompanying her father on his trips as he monitors the course of events to make certain that history isn't being tampered with. Only recently have technological advances made time travel economical enough to allow the department to send field agents out on missions on a regular basis, and now that Beth has grown up, she expects to join their ranks. However, her father has made it clear that he doesn't intend to give her one of the prized positions, so she parties instead of studying. After all, what is the point of attending classes if she knows more than her professors about history and she can't have what she wants?

Win can't believe his luck when the minister of historical studies offers him the new field assignment to run a general store and buy raw ore from the miners in 1889 Nevada. While he had been going on missions with his mentor for many years when school wasn't in session, he had ultimately chosen to make education his career - that is until he was driven to reconsider that choice by the complete disregard his mentor's daughter had shown to his efforts. Now, just as he is about to reach his post and take up his duties, that same disrespectful girl suddenly appears and he is forced to keep an eye on her as she immediately lands herself in trouble for inappropriate behavior.

Beth never came to class and has no idea who Win is. He plans to stay in character in case this is some sort of test that the Minister of Historical Studies has devised. What else could he be thinking to send his lovely young daughter into such a dangerous town where men outnumber women by ten to one?

When Sam wakes up in Pineville in the year 1870, she curses Eddie for getting to God first and telling Him to do this to her! The aggravating Sheriff, Devlin Foster, looks like Eddie, sounds like Eddie, but is far more dangerous than Eddie ever was!

Dev can't help believing the tiny redhead when she tells him she's from another world he knows nothing about, and he's convinced that Samantha was sent to be his. Of course, controlling her impulsive, reckless behavior is going to be a full time job. Whoever heard of a female wearing a badge?

Ronnie Deal has an ancestor living in Pineville, too, and from the moment Sam discovers his presence, she is determined to bring the criminal to justice, for he is every bit as despicable as his great-great-grandson. A Glitch in Time by April Hill

From the writing journal of author April Hill:

"I found this peculiar document in a writing desk I purchased for just a few dollars in a run-down little junk shop in London. In a jammed drawer I found a jumble of papers that I took to be letters.

As I began to read,,I realized that the pages weren't letters at all, but a sort of journal, written over a hundred years ago,, by a woman with a fairly good education, a big mouth and a really bad temper. The writer claims to be related to the famous writer, H.G. Wells, and writes about an amazing voyage through time. I know, ridiculous, right?

Maybe, but there's something about the thing that rings true. She was certainly a giant pain in the ass, and a major brat, as you'll see when you begin to read. This lady gets herself spanked a LOT, and it sounds like she had most of those spankings coming!

True? Not true? Your guess is as good as mine, but it makes a great read. Whatever you believe, you won't be bored."

Publisher's Note: A Glitch in Time is a great time travel-read for anyone who likes bratty heroines, long-suffering husbands, a good dose of history, with a Victorian flair.
